Dr. Alldredge completed medical school and residency at Oregon Health & Science University. He completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University.

John Meyer, MD is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist with the Bend Anesthesiology Group. He practices general, pediatric, and obstetric anesthesiology within the St. Charles health system in Bend and Redmond.

Dr. Meyer is originally from Kansas and moved out west to study engineering, earning his BS in Geological Engineering from the University of Idaho and his MS in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He worked as a civil engineer in Wyoming for several years before beginning his career in medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas and completed his internship and residency in Anesthesiology from Oregon Health and Science University, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Meyer has been a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Oregon Society of Anesthesiologists since 2014.

Dr. Meyer lives in Bend with his wife, Ana, and two children. When he’s not working, he enjoys time outside fly fishing, upland bird hunting, skiing and paddling.

Dr. Blair is an anesthesiologist with Northwest Permanente and practices at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center. He completed residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center, fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University and fellowship in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at Oregon Health and Science University.

Christopher E. Swide, M.D., is the Director for Oregon to the American Society of Anesthesiologists Board of Directors. He has served the OSA as President, Treasurer and delegate to the ASA since joining the organization in 1995.

Dr. Swide received his undergraduate degree in Zoology from The University of California, Berkeley and his Master’s degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University. He earned his MD degree at The University of Vermont College of Medicine after which he completed a Preliminary Medicine program at Mt. Zion Medical Center in San Francisco and his Anesthesiology residency at Oregon Health & Science University. After residency, he proudly served in the Medical Corps of United States Army at the rank of Major. After his military service, he completed a fellowship in Regional Anesthesia at Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, WA and joined the OHSU faculty in 1995.

He currently practices at OHSU and serves as the serves as the Director of Engagement and Alumni Relations for the OHSU Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine(APOM). He has served in many educational leadership positions at OHSU including the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education for the OHSU School of Medicine as well as the OHSU anesthesiology core program director and APOM vice chair for education. His academic interests are in the area of medical education, educational innovation, and educational outcome measurement. His publications include journal articles and book chapters on educational outcomes, educational innovations, regional anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia and patient safety. Dr. Swide’s clinical interests include regional anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, and anesthesia for ambulatory surgery.

On the personal side, Dr. Swide lives in Portland with his wife Sharon who is an Internal Medicine physician with Northwest Permanente. They have three grown children. He enjoys cooking, golf, running, bicycling, hiking, fishing, and reading. He is an avid Portland Trailblazer fan and longtime season ticket holder.

Brian works as an anesthesiologist at the Portland VA Medical Center. He is also an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at OHSU. Brian serves as a Delegate and Alternate Director to the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Prior to working at the VA, Brian completed his anesthesiology residency at OHSU where he was also a Chief Resident. Brian completed his internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio following medical school at The Ohio State University. He attended the University of Virginia and received a BS in Systems Engineering.

Brian lives in Portland with his wife and son. He is a year-round bike commuter who looks forward to longer cycling adventures on forest roads and mountain passes.

Executive Director

Shelley Shirley brings over 20 years of project management and event planning experience and over 10 years of association management to OSA. Shelley works closely with officers to plan and execute annual CME conferences, oversee association finances, budgets and dues, coordinate board meetings and manage websites. Prior to working with OSA, Shelley managed three non-profit networking organizations which included the East Portland Chamber of Commerce. Shelley earned her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Chico.

Lobbyist

Sabrina Riggs is OSA’s lobbyist, working at Dalton Advocacy, Inc. where she is Senior Vice President and the firm’s health care issue lead. She is a skillful lobbyist with a background as legislative staff, campaign work, and healthcare advocacy. Sabrina began her career as staff to a legislator serving on the healthcare committee, which sparked her passion for the issue area. Since then, she went on to campaign work, then worked at a public affairs firm working with patient advocacy coalitions. Later, she went on to lobby at a large firm for several specialty physician groups, working to ensure patient safety and statewide access to specialty providers. Today, she serves as account lead for DA’s healthcare clients, including OSA. Sabrina has built a reputation for delivering positive results for her clients, maintaining strong lines of communication and building important partnerships and coalitions within the House of Medicine. Sabrina earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Oregon University.
